The OPS Solutions Team is Growing, Meet Our Newest Hires

Our company began with a spark of innovation and an inventive spirit that continues to thrive within our culture today. Our team is what drives that spirit, and in turn, our company, forward. This is a particularly exciting time for our company, as our continued growth has allowed us to expand our team even further. In a few short months, we’ve welcomed several new team members, including our first hires at our new European HQ in the Czech Republic.

We’re happy to introduce the following new additions to the OPS Solutions team. Continue reading to learn more about what they’ll be working on, and why they were interested in joining our company.

Melanie Griffin-Pugh is joining us as a senior director of augmented reality sales. In her position, she is responsible for bringing our AR technology solutions to manufacturing production lines globally to ensure operators are able to perform at their highest level, 100% of the time.

Where did you go to school, and what degree do you hold? 

I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Dayton and went on to earn my Master of Science degree from Benedictine University.

When did you join the company, and what have been some highlights during your time at OPS Solutions so far? 

I joined OPS Solutions in February 2018. One highlight has been visiting a major aviation manufacturer and realizing that our company provides a product and service that is crucial to building everything we touch in our daily lives. The technology we provide is significant in supporting assembly operators around the world who take immense pride in their performance and are dedicated to quality, productivity, training and safety.  

How did you find out about OPS Solutions and what excited you about working for the company? How did you know it was the right fit for you? 

One of my professional mentors introduced me to Paul Ryznar, the Founder and CEO of OPS Solutions. I knew it was the right fit when I first talked to Paul. His energy matched my passion for the manufacturing industry. My parents worked in the industry, and their advocacy for strong work ethics, passion and contribution to society influenced me to my core. I have become a champion for people who are the true backbone to the success of our existence.

What unique skills, abilities and specialties do you bring to the team? 

I love to connect with people and pursue their interest in overcoming obstacles in their companies. I find purpose in helping others perform their jobs better. My satisfaction derives from happy clients who find value in the products and services I represent. My unique skill is uncovering problems and meeting the needs of my clients. 

Tell us a fun fact about yourself. Outside of work, do you have any personal passions or hobbies?

Coffee makes me sleepy and chocolate is unpalatable. I’m married with two teenage boys and a 10 year-old french bulldog named Barkley. In my spare time, I enjoy interior decorating.

Mackenzie Harris is joining us as an integration engineer. In this role, Mackenzie is responsible for programming, installing and testing Light Guide Systems, as well as providing programming training support for our customers.

When did you join the company, and what have been some highlights during your time at OPS Solutions so far? 

I started in March 2018. Some highlights have been learning how to install Light Guide Systems and traveling to different customer sites. I got to visit an automotive supplier and assist on a Light Guide System install for their welding application. I enjoy visiting different plants and seeing all of the different machines and assembly processes.

How did you find out about OPS Solutions and what excited you about working for the company? How did you know it was the right fit for you? 

I heard about OPS Solutions through my cousin Michael Placek, who is also an integration engineer at OPS. I was excited for the opportunity to learn new things and to travel around the world to install Light Guide Systems.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself. Outside of work, do you have any personal passions or hobbies?

I have two golden labs; Brodie is nine and Stella is five months old. The Detroit Red Wings are my favorite team, and I made it to three games this year. I like to keep active and get outside as much as I can.

Michelle Dant is joining us as a sales and marketing coordinator, and will be responsible for helping our sales team by supporting marketing efforts and assisting customers, as well as inside sales and accounting.

Where did you go to school, and what degree do you hold? 

I went to Baker College of Auburn Hills, where I earned a Bachelor of Business Administration, majoring in management and minoring in accounting.

When did you join the company, and what have been some highlights during your time at OPS Solutions so far? 

I started with OPS Solutions in February 2018. One highlight was getting to ring the bell after receiving my first order! We have so many incredibly smart and talented people at OPS Solutions and I have learned so much from everyone in my first couple of months here.

How did you find out about OPS Solutions and what excited you about working for the company? How did you know it was the right fit for you? 

I found out about OPS Solutions through my cousin Brad Foley, who has been an application engineer at OPS Solutions for about 4 years now. I was excited about working for OPS because once I understood how Light Guide Systems worked, I thought of so many applications where it could help solve problems and was excited to help customers utilize this innovative technology. I knew it was the right fit for me because the office has a laid-back atmosphere where everyone works incredibly hard every day to provide high quality solutions for our customers.

What unique skills, abilities and specialties do you bring to the team? 

I have experience in many different areas of business including sales, marketing, customer service and accounting. This allows me to help across all different aspects of the company.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself. Outside of work, do you have any personal passions or hobbies?

I am a huge Tom Petty fan and I have a 7-year-old shih-tzu mix named Teddy. My hobbies include reading, golfing and going to weekly trivia nights with my family.

Brian has over 10 years of experience managing sales, manufacturing and engineering operations including managing implementation of new manufacturing equipment and processes with processes and managing $20M+ portfolio of contract engineering projects. Brian holds a BS, Materials Science & Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and a MBA from the University of Michigan.
