Siemens, HP and Light Guide Systems Reveal Advanced Manufacturing Tech at UI Labs

We recently had the privilege of joining forces with key tech innovators from Siemens and HP to host an experiential workshop as part of UI Labs’ “Digital Disruption: The Future Factory Transformation” event at the Digital Manufacturing and Design Innovation Institute (DMDII) in Chicago.

The event provided industry professionals with a unique look at the digital tools being used in modern factories and highlighted numerous use cases applicable across a wide range of industries.

Our interactive display combined technology from HP and Siemens in a single assembly line, in which augmented reality (AR) work instructions were utilized to build a Stanley Black & Decker power drill.

The demonstration featured our revolutionary AR technology, Light Guide Systems, in conjunction with the Sprout Pro by HP to guide assembly and inspection processes with speed, accuracy and efficiency, while detailed data was collected and analyzed by the Siemens Simatic IT Manufacturing Execution System to ensure maximum quality and production optimization across assembly and manufacturing operations.

The goal of the workshop was to introduce tangible technological solutions that could provide actionable approaches to problems faced in the manufacturing world today.

By utilizing powerful AR tech in new ways, and in concert with advanced data collection and analysis tools, we are revolutionizing the manufacturing industry with unprecedented levels of quality, efficiency and error proofing, along with training and inspection solutions for products ranging from pacemakers and powertrains to pizzas.
