Highlights from 2018: OPS Solutions Year in Review

ops solutions

2018 was a fantastic year for us at OPS Solutions, and for augmented reality (AR) as a whole.

As more businesses around the world realize the power of AR, our team has done a fantastic job establishing OPS Solutions as a leading provider of enterprise AR solutions.

I’m incredibly proud of the work we’ve been able to accomplish in 2018, including the enhancements we’ve made to our Light Guide Systems technology, our continued growth in the US and abroad and the expansion of valuable partnerships that have helped us benefit a more diverse range of industries.

Join me as I reflect on a few of OPS Solutions’ many successes this past year.

CES 2018

We kicked off 2018 by attending CES 2018 in Las Vegas—the world’s largest conference for new and innovative technologies. We partnered with Panasonic, HP and 3D camera manufacturer Orbbec to create an interactive demonstration that showcased the power and flexibility of our augmented reality technology. Check out our display below:

Product Enhancements

As part of our mission to stay on the cutting edge of enterprise AR, we announced innovative new software updates to Light Guide Systems in January. These enhancements, which included updates to user functionality and vision programs, were enacted after listening to the feedback of our customers.

We also expanded our partnership with HP to introduce Light Guide Stratus in September, which integrates the HP Sprout Pro directly into a bench structure to increase display surface area for added flexibility.

After appearing at the world’s largest consumer trade show, the OPS team traveled to HANNOVER MESSE 2018—the world’s largest industrial trade show—in Hanover, Germany. Along with Automation Alley, we occupied a large exhibition space and gave attendees the opportunity to experience Light Guide Systems PRO through a unique hands-on assembly experience.

Attending HANNOVER MESSE 2018 was a great way for our team to network with companies throughout the globe and explain how enterprise AR can be a proven solution to common manufacturing challenges.

European Headquarters Opened

Looking toward the future in the midst of major company growth, we announced in April that OPS Solutions had expanded operations with a new European headquarters in the Czech Republic. The location has been fully operational and employs a local staff that is highly knowledgeable about our technology’s capabilities.

This exciting expansion allows us to meet the increasing demand for Light Guide Systems from major manufacturers in Europe and Asia and helps cement OPS Solutions as a permanent part of the global manufacturing landscape.

Trade Mission to India

After a successful trade missions to China and Europe, we embarked once again on a trade mission to India–a country from which we frequently receive a high level of interest.

On the trip, which was hosted by Automation Alley, we toured businesses in multiple cities throughout India to learn about their unique challenges and opportunities for using augmented reality. We also forged a partnership with PARI Robotics to sell, deliver and support Light Guide Systems in the country.

New Partnerships

There have been several new and expanded partnerships for OPS Solutions in 2018. In addition to a new relationship with PARI Robotics, we teamed up with eFlex Systems to add sophisticated AR capabilities to our work instruction software.

We also worked with the Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center to add Light Guide Systems to their innovative, world-class “Real Factory”—a completely operational factory that uses Industry 4.0 tools such as 3D printers, robots and AR to show manufacturers the benefits of adopting these assistive technologies.

Innovator of the Year Award

To close out 2018, we were named “Innovator of the Year” among Midwest manufacturers in the Fourth Industrial Revolution Awards. The award recognizes a technology or process that can advance multiple technologies and significantly improve the manufacturing ecosystem. Driving innovation is at the heart of our business, and this recognition is a great testament to the creativity and ingenuity of our team.

2018 was a critical year for the growth of our organization, and I would like to thank every one of our customers, employees and partners for making it all possible. There are exciting times on the horizon, and I look forward to seeing what 2019 has in store for us.
