Light Guide Systems Europe Celebrates One-Year Anniversary

One year ago, we announced the formation of our European headquarters, located in the heart of the Czech Republic. The move provided a convenient launch point to expand business partnerships and more readily offer sales, setup and maintenance of Light Guide Systems throughout Europe and Africa.

As the Managing Director of European Engineering and Sales, I was tasked with leading the growth of Light Guide Systems Europe.  Now, as we celebrate the first anniversary of our opening, I find myself reflecting on the significant progress my team and I have made over the past year.

Growing Our Team

Since opening Light Guide Systems Europe, we now employ a growing team of engineering managers, application developers and installation engineers to ensure our customers receive industry-leading service along with Light Guide Systems’ world-class augmented reality hardware and software.

Business Growth

Light Guide Systems Europe completed several startup milestones in the past year. We formed the company, moved into our first office space, hired our first employees, installed our first Light Guide Systems and expanded our office to nearly double in size.

Being under the umbrella of OPS Solutions, we are able to utilize the company’s long-established global footprint which includes more than 650 Light Guide Systems actively running in manufacturing and production environments worldwide. This, in addition to organic growth achieved by my team, has generated additional interest in Light Guide Systems from new customers in the European and African regions we service.

Our Involvement in the European Manufacturing Community

Our team at Light Guide Systems Europe has presented at several European trade shows in our first year of operation as a way to broaden our reach and demonstrate the power of Light Guide Systems to as many companies as possible.

Trade shows we attended last year include MNE in Belgium, CODAR Expo, MOTEK in Stuttgart and more. I was also honored to be a speaker representing Light Guide Systems Europe at the Croatian U.S. Embassy Expo for Digital Manufacturing.

Most recently, we presented, for our 2nd year, at HANNOVER MESSE—the world’s largest industrial automation trade show. For four days straight, our booth was packed non-stop with people interested in application demonstrations of our Light Guide Systems AR technology.

These trade shows proved that our customers are past the point of education as industrial augmented reality reaches the mainstream and are now focused on executing purchases and product comparisons.

The Future Ahead

The future looks bright for Light Guide Systems Europe. We currently enjoy a strong presence in the region and continue to broaden our reach. Many new customers continue to find us, and we’re working hard to deliver unparalleled experience in the countries we serve.

I’m proud of the progress we have made and look forward to continuing our European headquarters’ big start as OPS Solutions grows to become the world’s leading provider of manufacturing augmented reality solutions.
