Insights and trends on augmented reality and advanced manufacturing technology

OPS Solutions CEO to Speak at 2017 MICHauto Summit

The automotive industry is in the midst of another revolution that’s being driven by an explosion of connectivity, shared mobility and automated technology.

As the automotive capitol of the world, and one of the fastest growing technology and entrepreneurship hubs in the country, Detroit is at the forefront of this incredible transformation in manufacturing technology, known as Industry 4.0.

At the 2017 MICHauto Summit – hosted by the Detroit Regional Chamber – I will be joining a panel that explores how the convergence of automotive, mobility and emerging technology is impacting established leaders in one of Michigan’s key industries. My panel discussion will also cover the integral role digital developers and software will play in shaping Michigan’s automotive future.

Our company is proud to work with several automotive organizations in Michigan and beyond. Our leadership and development teams have extensive experience in manufacturing and technology environments, which has allowed us to approach augmented reality design and development from a practical and personal perspective.

Light Guide Systems, our patented projector-based AR technology, has fundamentally altered the standard operating procedures of world-class manufacturing facilities across the globe.

Our breakthrough applications create a no-faults-forward approach to automotive production, allowing for increased efficiency, productivity and, perhaps most importantly, quality. In fact, when operators use Light Guide Systems in place of traditional work instructions, organizations report a 90% reduction in errors, and a 40-50% reduction in cycle time.

Augmented reality technology is also the perfect trainer, working to drastically reduce ramp-up time for new hires by overlaying a “digital canvas” onto a physical workspace, and walking operators through even the most technical tasks step by step.

I am excited to share my knowledge with automotive industry leaders during my upcoming panel session at the MICHauto Summit, and I hope to see you all there!
